Getting Started With Family Law

If you landed on this page, we understand that you are dealing with a stressful family situation right now. Understandably, we are sure this is a chapter of your life you are eager to close and move on from. In response, Family Legal Partners, P.C. has designed a two step intake process that is easy for you and efficient for our firm. This process is ultimately designed to ensure that we are a good match for you, gather critical information, educate you on the law, create a case strategy, and implement a plan.

It begins with an Initial Consultation Session, which is an opportunity for us to learn more about one another and make sure there is a good fit. FLP chooses to work with clients who are reasonable, conscientious, and responsible. We recognize that even the best people in life find themselves in unfortunate marital circumstances and need help. During your Session, we will assess your case and identify your options.

Prior to your Initial Consultation Session, we will send you an official Family Law Information Packet, which contains a Family Law Case Assessment.  This short, confidential questionnaire will need to be completed and returned before our time together. During your Initial Consultation Session, we will explain the legal process involved, how we handle our cases, and discuss your options for taking action. We will also get a sense of your goals and expectations. At the conclusion of this Session, we can identify your next steps and, if appropriate, schedule your Family Law Intake Meeting and provide you with some homework.

During your Family Law Intake Meeting, we will obtain additional information and paperwork from you. We will also create a comprehensive strategy plan that will be implemented before you leave our office.

What Must I Do Prior to My Initial Consultation Session?

After scheduling your Initial Consultation Session, you will receive an official Family Law Information Packet from us containing a Family Law Case Assessment and other valuable information you will want to review prior to your Session. We must have your completed Family Law Case Assessment returned to our office 2 days prior to your Session either by fax or email; otherwise, we may need to reschedule your Session. Please feel free to contact our office anytime if you need assistance completing your Assessment or have any other questions.

The Family Law Case Assessment is specifically designed to allow us to learn a more about you and your family dynamic. It helps us spot important issues and identify your biggest concerns and objectives. The Assessment is also created to help you focus on the important questions and information that are necessary to protect you and your family.

We ask that you fill out the Family Law Case Assessment and return it to us in advance so that we can make the most of our time together.

Please provide as much of the requested information as you can.

Schedule your Initial Consultation Session, and return the Family Law Case Assessment to our office 2 days prior to your appointment.
